Mr L Hodgkinson spoke against the application and Mr T McGlue spoke for the application.
Councillor KA Williams motioned that the application be refused on the grounds it would cause significant harm to the green belt and therefore contrary to the adopted Core Strategy GB1. This motion was seconded by Councillor R Perry.
Councillors K Perry, R Cope, S Hollis, B Cox, L Emery, B Edwards J Johnson, D Clifft, B Williams, R Reade and M Lawrence also spoke against the proposal
RESOLVED: that the recommendation be overturned and refused on the following grounds:
1. The site is within the Green Belt and the proposed development is considered to be inappropriate development as set out in policy GB1 of the adopted Core Strategy. The development is therefore harmful to the Green Belt, contrary to policy GB1 of the adopted Core Strategy.
2. The Local Planning Authority has considered the reasons advanced, but does not consider that these reasons constitute the very special circumstances required to clearly outweigh the harm to the Green Belt by reason of inappropriateness.
