The Committee received and took into account the report of the Director of Planning and Strategic Services, together with the information and details on the late list received after the agenda was prepared and took into account the representations of the speakers at Committee.

 

15/01011/FUL - HINKSFORD LANE SAND PIT, HINKSFORD LANE, SWINDON - APPLICANT - NNR LEISURE - PARISH - SWINDON

Mr C Whitehouse spoke for the application and Mr R Painter against

RESOLVED: that the application be refused on the basis that:

1. The site is within the Green Belt and the proposed development is considered to be inappropriate development as set out in policy GB1 of the adopted Core Strategy. The development is therefore harmful to the Green Belt, contrary to policy GB1 of the adopted Core Strategy.

2. The proposed development would be an unnecessary visual intrusion into the Green Belt and would be prejudicial to the openness, character and amenity of this part of the Green Belt, contrary to the policies set out in policies EQ4 and EQ11 of the adopted Core Strategy.

3. The Local Planning Authority has considered the reasons advanced, but does not consider that these reasons constitute the very special circumstances required to justify inappropriate development in the Green Belt.

4. The Local Planning Authority has considered the business case reasons advanced, but does not consider these reasons to justify development outside of the development boundary.

 

16/00310/FUL - THE BUNGALOW,HUNTINGTON FARM, COCKSPARROW LANE, HUNTINGTON WS12 4PB - APPLICANTS - MR S PHILLIPS AND MRS S PARSON - PARISH - HUNTINGTON

RESOLVED: that the application be refused on the basis that the proposed residential development would be sited next to an existing hotel which may give rise to unacceptable level noise to potential occupiers, and is therefore contrary to policy EQ9 of the adopted Core Strategy.
